Dear Miss Emily:

Okay,  so I've been with my boyfriend for 2 years. We recently broke up for like a week or so, and I didn't really think of him all that much. We broke up because I said I needed time alone and I got that -- then we got back together and I don't know if it was the right decision now. What does this mean? I feel like if I don't stay with him my future won't be all that great and, also, I fear that I won't meet anyone as great as him. Do I just move on?

------------------------------Miss Emily's advice--------------------------

He may be a great guy (so is my gardener), but the relationship might have run its course. It's not the best plan to stay with someone because you think this may be as good as it gets. He wouldn't want the relationship under those terms (at least, I think that's true), and  you shouldn't want be tied down while yearning for something that's out there, but you aren't free to explore it. Man-up, and move on. If, after you have seen the world and nothing else comes your way, perhaps you can revisit this relationship. Life is full of surprises.
